Genesis, Our Story Part III

after our troubles, Genesis entered the ZI Cup in 3 substrates ; Victor, Oscar and Sigma.a few days before the preliminary rounds, all were drafted into their respective groups.

it was a unanimous decision that the group stages would prove to be as difficult a match we shall ever embark upon.

Genesis Sigma led by founder Sek Khai, entered Group C to face STG Santanders,VillaReds Vengeance and notably, school favourite, UIC Ruti Paun.

Genesis Oscar led by Fhad entered Group A with Outsyders Sierra, Dom FT and VillaReds Versatile.

Genesis Victor, led by Kamarul Rahim,absolute captain of Genesis United FC, went into Group B with PPB Zul Aqil, Outsyders Alpha and UIC Legend. we all had our work cut out for us.

Genesis Victor and Genesis Sigma got into the Plate Cup playoffs. Genesis Oscar, being eliminated at the group stages got The Last-Hope Cup. Genesis Sigma got eliminated in the early stages of the Plate Cup, but Genesis Victor managed to obtain a 3rd place match-up which unfortunately ended in defeat.

after what happened in the Plate Cup,all pressure was on Genesis Oscar, as they were Genesis United FC's only stepping stones to grab our first ever trophy.

sparks flew, electricity was in the air, you could feel the emotions being scattered around the air as we watched Genesis Oscar play. one by one, they defeated their opponents. MS Villa lost 2-0, STG lost 1-0.

then came the finals. it was Genesis Oscar vs. Trivella. both Form 4 teams were new comers to the tourney. wave after wave Trivella withstood the onslaught of Genesis Oscar, until one moment, the sound of the ball hitting the back of the net was heard. the finals ended with Genesis Oscar winning 1-0.

after the match, we all celebrated like we have never before, winning a trophy in our first year of entering the ZI cup. Genesis Oscar celebrated wildly but also did not forget to congratulate their opponents for a tough match.

with the victory in our hands, and after the final of the World-Cup playoffs, the annual tourney, once again, came to a close.

The trophy was given a week later. everyone, especially Genesis Oscar, were thrilled to receive the trophy. After the presentation, it marked the end of our story for the year 2009.
